When asked to prepare a draft book contract by a former boss, Mr. Rogna found a way to bridge his passion for literature and a career in the law. The joy of helping one author secure his rights led Mr. Rogna down the path to a career principled on helping everyone from artists to entrepreneurs secure rights in their intellectual property.

Daniel’s focus is on helping clients navigate the expansion of the “new Internet.” He manages everything from domain registration applications to monitoring and enforcement in the new space of gTLDs. Protecting his clients’ brands through ownership of the appropriate domain names requires a bit of defense in the form of keeping a constant pulse on the ever-changing status of domain names.

Daniel worked in the copyright department of Penguin Group USA, one of the world’s largest typeface libraries and distributors (Monotype Imaging), and as an assistant to a literary agent. Daniel has the experience to advise clients on everything from conventional print publications to cutting-edge digital formats.

Daniel’s background in publishing has evolved into extensive experience in copyright registration and litigation across many forms of content, including technology, software and publishing.

His practice in this area includes clearance of materials and fair use analysis, as well as licensing agreement development and negotiations. Furthermore, Daniel gained valuable trial experience in trademark law with a successful defense in trademark dilution claim and favorable settlement for the prosecution in a software technology trademark infringement case.
