Partridge Partners Recognized in 2017 WTR National Ranking

World Trademark Review (WTR) had recognized Partridge Partners PC on its 2017 list of World's Leading Trademark Professionals

The firm received a top-tier gold ranking in Illinois for "enforcement and litigation" and "prosecution and strategy" and was the only firm in the country to receive national recognition in all three individual practice categories of: "enforcement and litigation," "prosecution and strategy," and "gTLDs." Along with the listing, WTR noted that "Partridge Partners boasts tremendous trademark expertise in founding partner Mark Partridge, a nationally renowned IP strategist. He is a formidable opponent and knows the law inside and out."

Land O'Lakes Can't Wrest Trademark From Tackle Co.

Law360, Chicago (July 23, 2015), By Lance Duroni

In the case Hugunin, et al. v. Land O’Lakes Inc., Land O’Lakes Inc. lost its bid to block a fishing tackle company from using a name nearly identical to its own after an Illinois federal judge found that the dairy cooperative waited too long to push its trademark dilution claim.

Land O’Lakes had argued that the delay could be excused because it was trying to avoid taking a heavy-handed approach against a small entrepreneur, but Judge Gottshall disagreed.

“Delay can be inexcusable even if it is due to efforts to avoid litigation,” she said.

Representing Hugunin, Mark V.B. Partridge of Partridge & Garcia told the judge; “This is Trademark 101 — if you sleep on your rights, you lose them.”
