Elliott C. Bankendorf was formerly the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield System, a partner in a large Intellectual Property Boutique as well as an Amjur 100 firm.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of trademark development, transfer and protection both in the U.S. and internationally, as well as licensing and portfolio management and representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He also participates in court litigation on behalf of Trademark owners.

He represents Trademark owners both large and small including entities listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the largest entity in an international jurisdiction. 

Elliott has served as a director of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and continues to serve on many of its committees.  He has chaired committees for the Intellectual Property Association of Chicago (IPLAC) and the Chicago Bar Association.  

Elliott is the author of several articles on Trademark law including several related to the relationship between Trademark Law and HIPAA. He was the author of the first Service Mark Use Manual for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield System. He has spoken to many groups including INTA and IPLAC and law firms in the United Kingdom on various aspects of Trademark law. 

Well known and respected for his extensive relationships with Trademark professionals throughout the world, he has facilitated international trademark filing programs and trademark litigation in many countries and has negotiated trademark agreements with companies throughout the world.  Additionally, he has testified as an expert witness in cases in the U.S., Paraguay and India.
