Partridge & Garcia P.C. Promotes Two Attorneys to Partner

Partridge & Garcia P.C. is pleased to announce that Jordan Arnot Leahey and Colin T.J. O’Brien have been promoted to Partner. Jordan and Colin have been with the firm from its inception in 2010 and have proven themselves to be excellent attorneys through hard work, client service and dedication to the profession, winning accolades from clients and professional colleagues alike.

“Our firm is built around a few clear values: client service, expertise, integrity, collaboration,” Managing Partner Mark V.B. Partridge said. “Jordan and Colin display these values every day. I’m particularly delighted by the positive feedback we get from the clients who work directly with them.”

Jordan Arnot Leahey

Jordan has excelled in her role as outside general counsel for corporate clients in the medical software industry, drafting and negotiating complex software licensing arrangements. She also receives rave reviews from in-house counsel for her role in Federal Court litigation and for her handling of domestic global trademark registration portfolios in the education, hospitality and financial services industries.

Jordan is a proven leader in the profession. Recently appointed to serve on the Board of the ABA Women Rainmakers Committee, she is a prolific author on IP issues, with recent articles appearing in IP Litigator, the Journal of Art, Technology and IP Law, the Journal of Internet Law, the Review of Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Lawyer, IndustryWeek Magazine, and Law Practice Magazine.

Jordan’s excellent work in these areas has earned her recognition as an Emerging Lawyer by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s Leading Lawyers Division, a distinction earned by less than two percent of the young lawyers licensed in Illinois.

Jordan graduated from New York University and obtained her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.

Colin T.J. O’Brien

Colin manages complex IP conflicts for corporate clients in domestic and international matters, earning high praise for his knowledge of registration and dispute resolution options in the U.S. and abroad. He has over ten years of experience using the UDRP and ACPA procedures for domain name disputes and resolving trademark registration conflicts before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Clients appreciate Colin’s ability to find quick, practical solutions to intellectual property problems.

Colin is also a leader in the field of IP law. Building on his experience with domain name disputes, Colin is an active member of the Intellectual Property Constituency in ICANN and will be attending ICANN 54 in Dublin this month. He has also been appointed to the INTA Internet Committee. Further demonstrating his expertise in Internet matters, he has been a regular speaker on the topic at business and professional events, making recent presentations at the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, DePaul University College of Law and Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

In addition, for the past three years, Colin has taught Advanced Trademark Law at the John Marshall Law School and will be leading a Round Table discussion on controlling litigation cost at the 2016 INTA Annual Meeting.

Colin graduated from the University of Maryland and obtained his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Name Partner Paul R. Garcia welcomed Jordan and Colin to the partnership ranks, saying “I am proud to call two such distinguished and able lawyers my partners and to be able to continue to offer our clients the highest service and positive results.”
